A group of us just started a book club and started out with Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes. That was a great book, but not my favorite. I've liked all her books so far but I think The Plain Truth is my favorite one of hers. I also loved The Quickie by James Patterson. Really anything by him. I also love Nicholas Sparks and just finished The Lucky One for our second bookclub book. So many to choose from!

I don't really have a favorite. However, for the sake of winning a book... I'll say Mara, Daughter of the Nile by Eloise Jarvis McGraw, a YA book originally published in 1953. It's a great story, a great setting (ancient Egypt), and Mara is a great character.

Choosing a favorite book is an extremly hard thing to do. Being an advid reader i've read many books so its hard to talk about just one. But, one of my absolute favorites is The Raging Quiet by Sherryl Jordan. It's about a 16 year old girl who is suspected of being a witch because she uses her own creation of "sign laguage" to comunicate with the town's deaf boy. I love the way she builds a friendship with the boy (who was thought to be crazy) and gives him a type of language which he can use to comunicate.

Not to be gruesome, but one of my recent favorites has been Simon Beckett's "Whispers of Death." It's the 3rd book featuring protagonist Dr. David Hunter, a forensic anthropologist from Britain, who comes to America in this installment to solve a murder mystery involving a serial killer who knows his forensics. Beckett always includes the dramatic twist in the last few pages to keep you reading...
